Heather’s Journey

Heather was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2016. She felt that keeping her hair would be very important to her mental state and thus affecting the outcome of her treatment. Heather was able to use the DigniCap (https://dignicap.com/) which was cleared by the FDA in 2015, although most insurances currently don’t cover the cost. She kept about 90% of her hair, inspiring her to create this foundation to help those who otherwise couldn’t afford the cost of the cooling cap technology.

Our Mission

Hope for Hair Foundation provides support to cancer patients at risk for hair loss as a result of chemotherapy by educating and providing products that will help ensure successful hair retention.

I have completed chemotherapy and am so incredibly thankful to have been able to keep enough hair to retain some form of normalcy. I was able to continue to work and go to the grocery store, etc without people knowing I had cancer. I have a 2 and 4 year old who knew mommy didn’t feel well at times, but at least didn’t have to see me without hair which would have been far more disruptive. I am so fortunate to have discovered cold capping as well as Hope for Hair who was able to assist me in making it a reality. I will forever be grateful!!!!
